The Palace Museum was established on October 10, 1925, as a large, comprehensive ancient art museum based on the imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties and the imperial collections. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a nationally designated key cultural relic protection unit, and a model base for patriotic education.
